St John’s Preschool Worthing took over from St John’s Playgroup in 2009. It is run by a governing body appointed by ‘St John the Divine’ Church and includes:
Martin Lloyd – Chair of Governors
Fr. Tim Pesckett – Vice Chairman of Governors
Ros Ashton – Foundation Governor
Sally Thompson – Governor
Gillian Almond – Governor
St John’s Preschool operates from the main hall within St John’s hall, which is located next door to St John’s Church, West Worthing. The children have access to two outdoor playing areas. The first is located at the rear of the building, where the children can explore our water, sand and role play area as well as look after our fruit and vegetable plants. The second is our secure courtyard area located at the front of the hall, where the children have plenty of space to run around and use our bikes, scooters and tricycles.
With a maximum capacity for 26 children, St John’s Preschool is open Monday to Friday during term time. We offer ‘stay and play’ sessions at certain times of the year, so that parents can come and join in the fun!
The preschool is in receipt of funding for the ‘Provision of free early education’ for children aged two, three and four years old. We support children with special educational needs / disabilities and children who speak English as an additional language. We employ a number of fully qualified staff, including a preschool Supervisor and Manager.
St Johns Preschool is registered and inspected by Ofsted. We were awarded ‘Good’ in our most recent Ofsted Report. Please see our report here. St John’s Preschool Ofsted Report
